FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you a non-profit?
We are a federally recognized 501c3 non-profit organization. Any money that is made at Chickadee goes directly into packaging supplies and sourcing more variety and better products for donation.

Which community fridges do you service?
As of December 2023, we service 6 community fridges in Worcester, NH, and Maine as well as food rescue programs like Roslindale Food Collective and the Central Community Church Food Pantry! Follow this link to see our currently operating Boston/Cambridge/Worcester fridge map.

When do you drop off?
We do bulk drop offs of spices, bags, and labels to programs quarterly.

What do you usually offer?

Most of our bulk drops typically include spices and supplies for 1-2,000 bags of individual spices. We’ve also recently begun adding tea donations as tea and coffee are also highly prized donation items.

What did your last dropoff look like?
Our last drop included 10-20 boxes (12 per box) of black pepper jars, 70 pound boxes of ginger, and 60 pound boxes of tea to three different organizations.

Do you work with any local companies?
We do! We aim to source our donations as locally as possible. Some of our previous and current partners are MEM Tea, Curio Spice, & Atlantic Spice Co.

What are your Covid-19 safety procedures?
All milling and packaging equipment and tables are sanitized before and after use. Even though our team is fully vaccinated and boosted, we wear masks during all packaging.
